Mountain Bluebird

The Mountain Bluebirds are a beautiful splash of color against the brown drabness of the end of winter. They flutter from fence post to fence post while we walk to check on the cattle. A lovely reminder that springtime is on it’s way.

Thank you Lenore. It’s been so busy around here with calving I haven’t stopped to “smell the roses” in a while. But once I did, I saw this beauty. 🙂

Amazing! They remind me of those fantastical bluebirds of the early Disney movies, maybe they were real birds after all! 🙂

Ha! You are so right! I often say “it looks like Disney out here!” Patrick just rolls his eyes but it’s true. As a city girl that grew up seeing it on TV, the scenes out here take my breath away. And takes me back to those younger years of Bambi and Snowhite.

So, so lovely. This makes to long to see my pair of bluebirds here in Indiana. I hope they return!

That is such a beautiful bird. In the east where I live, bluebirds are one of my favorite birds.
