Freelensing: a Snowflake
A friend and mentor of mine suggested I try the freelensing technique with my nifty 50mm to get macro results. I love that snowflakes really do look like storybook snowflakes. I froze my fanny while working on this and I finally got one that I believe is worthy for your eyes. What do you think? Please keep in mind I am still trying to perfect this so don’t be too harsh.
Holding On
We had a beautiful blanket of snow yesterday morning and by afternoon it began to melt away. Autumn leaves were peeking through the slushy snow and some are still hanging on to the tree limbs. I’m sure the wind this weekend will take them all away but I’m going to hold on to this sight for a while.
Have a great weekend!
Snowy Sunrise
I took a walk as the sun came up.
The blanket of ice and snow crunched under my boots. I love that sound.
Cooling
After 2 weeks in my hot and sunny home state of Georgia, I’m finally cooling down in the sanctuary of southeast Wyoming. I had a great and very busy time back east and I’m so glad to be home. The french manicure is wearing off, the makeup is washed off and I think I’ve finally caught up on many hours of lost sleep.
We woke up this morning to a soft rain that has turned into a beautiful snowfall. It isn’t very cold but the snow is piling up. Feels like a lovely day to stay inside and process the many images shot during the past two weeks.
I’ve missed you all and look forward to catching up. Be well!
Bachelorettes in New Orleans
I’ve been away from the ranch for a couple of weeks to take on a big dose of southern charm. My best friend is getting married so six of her closest friends piled into a minivan and headed for the Cajun streets of New Orleans. We enjoyed shopping, local art, good eats, and fabulous concerts in the parks and on the streets.
The bride-to-be and a couple other girls got airbrush tattoos and we all wore our best friends bracelets.
You didn’t really think I was going to show you the unedited version of the bachelorette weekend did you? Oh we had a fun and very innocent time together. 😉
Now we are back in Georgia getting ready for the big weekend of wedding festivities. Getting excited!
In the Mist continued…
I made my way down to the river to see what or even if I could see. It was so peaceful.
Here is the foggy version of Country Road.
Love this funky tree.
I think these last two are my fav’s.
