Wyoming Windchill
We are in full on winter mode. It is serious. We’ve had temperatures and wind chills well below zero. Like 20 and 30 degrees below zero.
It makes the horse frisky. He throws his head up and down while running alongside the truck.
And the cattle have become cowscicles. But just look at those round bellies. They are weathering the storm beautifully. We cake them daily and they get a fresh bale every other day.
At times, we can’t even see the mountains.
The deer are sporting their full winter coats.
At sunset a couple nights ago, when temperatures barely made it to zero during the warmest part of the day, the river looked like a hot spring with steam billowing out of it. Patrick said he’d be glad to watch me take a dip if I’d like to.
I passed.
Love your photos! They’re great!

Fabulous photos. I love the lone horse up there. Beautiful. We are in winter mode here as well, but not as cold as you. We’re in snow now, but soon to be covered in ice. Wishing that all those who must travel stay safe. Great pix. Your dad’s message up there made me smile. 🙂

Thanks, he’s a sweetheart. 🙂
I’ll take snow over ice any day. Of course, the roads get icy from the packed snow but we rarely get a straight ice storm. I’ve seen them but it isn’t often, thankfully.

As a “Minnesota boy” who has lived in California for 48 years, I “miss?” the photos in my mind of growing up in weather like this. You keep my mind photo’s alive with your beautiful winter photography. Looks to me like your cows may be have some big healthy calves early this springs. Not too early as I know how this stresses you.

Hi Cal! Thanks so much for the compliment!
You’re right, they are nice and round. I have a couple of heifers due in February which makes me nervous but the rest will be March and April.
