Windy Aftermath
I’m so thankful the weather is turning and we are starting to warm up. Well, sort of. We woke up to a light dusting of snow yesterday morning but it melted away by noon. The skies were blue then overcast, then blue again.
I went for a walk near the river and noticed the willows reaching sideways. It’s either that they chose to grow this way or it’s because of the 70 plus mph winds we had this winter.
I continued my walk through a couple of meadows toward the hillsides and noticed the grass laying sideways. I tell you folks, the winter winds were vicious here but I think they are on the way out.
Yep, the weather is a-changin’. I’ve taken the rocks out of my pockets. The cows are calving. Deer are losing their winter coats. The hounds are ready for their evening walks.
And I’m getting nervous about swimsuit season. Ugh.
Hiya Leah, I am so glad that I found your journal. Your photographs are wonderful and I think that the life you have must be great fun , even with 70 mi winds. I would love a life like that, out on the ranch, at one with nature.
Now that I have found you i shall eagerly await for each post that you write. It gives such great pleasure and enjoyment
Love P

Ha! Thanks… and sorry for the swimsuit mention. It’s weighing on me, no pun intended.

It must finally be spring when the deer are shedding their warm winter coats and walk around with just their spring jackets. Early spring is a peaceful and lazy time with a hint of what will soon be emerging from below the surface. There is a loveliness in walking in the spring browness, looking for little hints of new life. A stand of pussy willows here, a fuzzy crocus there. Soon it will all erupt into a gorgeous green world and a much busier time. Too bad it’s impossible to capture that spring smell with your camera!
