Tilda Tuesday: Exploration

Posted in Matilda, Photography by leahyetter on October 8, 2013

The lol (little old lady) got a special treat yesterday. While Patrick and a friend worked on installing our wood stove, I stacked wood onto our porch. With the doors wide open, Matilda took it upon herself to carefully step outside. And I let her.

She used to be an indoor/outdoor cat but after the many vet bills from injuries and cat fights, I decided the geriatric years will be spent indoors with me.  Since I was going to be outside all evening, I thought she could enjoy it with me.

And she did enjoy it. She rolled in the dirt, ate grass and chased bugs.

She did not venture far from me and was always watching her back.

When I was done stacking wood, I looked around and didn’t see her. I walked the perimeter of the house and still couldn’t find her. So I came inside and discovered that she put herself to bed. She was curled up for the night. In the old days, I would have been hollering out for her for a half hour until she decided to come home.

Yep! Still brave and cautious. Glad you like this one. 🙂 I was happy for her. Changing up her usual 23 hour day of napping is good for her soul.

Yea for Matilda!! She is my hero. As I get older, I find I do watch my back, and sometimes I am more cautious. Thanks Tilda for reminding me to be brave and go for adventures!!

Thank you. She loves the outdoors but with her burning curiosity, she seems to get into trouble out there!
