Golden Eagle
Saw this guy one evening while checking cattle. They can prey on large mammals but I’m pretty sure he was after the abundance of ravens flying around the calving pasture.

WOW! Amazing… My guy ADORES these eagles, and we’ve only seen them in sanctuaries (sadly, where they must stay b/c they’ve been hurt — but happily, where they’re lovingly cared for). How BEAUTIFUL and lucky for you! Lovely image. ♥

Thank you! I think sanctuaries are a good thing, I went to a couple when I lived in Georgia. But at Calloway Gardens, I always dream of stealing the owls in the “Birds of Prey” show. I just LOVE owls!

Ooooh owls are my favorite, too — also known as “flying cats”! Love them. Just adore them.

Eagles are so elegant, and so arrogant! Your picture has picked up both, wonderfully.

Oh yes! Their beaks are ALWAYS stuck up in the air. So snobby! Thanks Suzy.

That’s the only Golden Eagle I’ve ever seen out here. I was pretty darn excited!

I love those plants around the eagle with those grass-like blades sticking up into the air. What are they called?

Those are Yucca. You can eat their flower when they bloom but those lovely green leaves will stick you and scratch when you hike through them. They are pretty to look at but can be annoying walking through them.
