Time for a Rain Dance

Took a peek into this canyon on a beautiful evening ride with friends. The charred trees are from a fire 10 years ago and I can’t help but worry about history repeating itself. The grass is so dry that it crunches under my boots with every step.
I guess it’s time to suit up and chant and spin. Anyone want to join me?

We need rain here in Arizona, too. Last June the Monument Fire blackened our mountains, canyons and roadsides south of town. It was quite scary and we are hoping history does not repeat itself!

Hugs to you too Pat. We had a fire on Squaw Mountain behind our house last summer. It was scary but didn’t get too close to our home and didn’t harm any ranches or residences. Just a hunting cabin and some grazing ground. It was started by lightning. Ugh. It’s just so nerve-wracking with this dry ground. I’m definitely going to make a fire plan for us this year.

If a rain dance can help, then count me in! We need it here in CA, too..

Your photo is so lovely…the way you’ve caught the light especially. The charred trees in the foreground really give meaning to the beauty of the rest. Nature’s beauty includes even the trees that are still standing even after the fire 10 years ago…they sort of deserve some credit for still standing!

You’re right! They do deserve some credit. The choke cherry bushes are coming back too and it’s lovely how nature is recovering. I just hope we get some moisture soon!
Thank you for the compliment on the photo. 🙂

Hey Leah, I would love to join you, but I can not jump and dance any longer. I love your work as always. I want to get an eagle and that new bluebird. I will contact you later about that. Best regards. Wiley

Not me, wish I could send you some of our water… It’s been raining for a solid month here almost without stopping. And not just mizzle, real sheets of rain. (Here is the Finistère at the western tip of France.) Worrying for you. World resources are not well shared.

Yes, saw a lot of that too here in Arizona after the Wallow Fire last year (500,000 acres burned!) Hope it rains on your parade daily for awhile! 🙂

I know! I can’t believe how the camera interpreted the light into a rainbow through the canyon. Glad you like!
