I dared to take a walk in the winds of the wild and got as far as the horse gate. I went in and scrubbed on some noses and cheeks. These two, Gus and Hillbilly, are best buds.

I wasn’t sure if they were going to fight for my attention as they do sometimes but they were actually being sweet. Glad you like!

I don’t know if you follow Pioneer Woman, but you have similar styles…and similar backgrounds. I really like this shot, and the choice of black and white just works with this photo. The highlights and shadows are perfect and add a sense of serenity to the shot. Nice!

When I first started my blog, I was told to visit the Pioneer Woman website. I couldn’t believe the similarities. Except I don’t have all the kids! Glad you like the shot! I wasn’t sure about going black&white with it but I’m happy how it turned out. Thanks!

I love your pictures of the horses! It always reminds that one of my life’s goals is to have my own horse. I have always been enthralled with horses — maybe that’s why as a child we used to pretend we were wild mustangs! Make sure you go see War Horse — definitely a horse lover’s movie!

Wild Mustangs, I love it! These are all ranch horses, none of them are mine but I’m slowly learning how to ride. They are sometimes friendly to visit, but when I’m surrounded by six of them at a time, they compete with each other for my attention and they get aggressive. They are huge creatures and make me nervous sometimes. But I LOVE photographing them.

I was raised around ranch horses too. My father rode bareback broncos in the rodeo circuit for years (before I was born) – so I was taught an appreciation for horses early in life. He always told me that horses were just like dogs — they love you unconditionally – but especially if you have a treat in your hand! Enjoy!

Okay, I think I found my perfect photo. It makes me think of our friendship (whispering about a certain handsome cowboy) and features one of my favorite horses!
