My Neighbors Got a Goat

Posted in Photography by leahyetter on June 14, 2011

What a cutie! I never thought I would say that about a goat but he has a shiny brown coat and is a little bashful.

I’ll never get over the shape of the pupils. Apparently horizontal pupils are for peripheral depth perception. And that’s good for the mountainous terrain out here.

When I viewed the pictures in your previous post, the terrain reminded me of the Three Billy Goats Gruff story. So it was no susrprise when I saw this guy in today’s post.
Watch out for lurking trolls in those mountains, Billy!

I didn’t know that about the eyes of a goat. Interesting! Great pictures, too.

All goats have that type pupil. Bizarre looking but you get used to it. And they are such fun. Some friends had one when I was about 4–and I thought I was Heidi. Rudolph followed me everywhere. We were in Franklin, NC that summer. When we talked to Virginia & Jesse that Christmas, I naturally asked how Rudolph was. They said, “He was good. We had him for Christmas dinner!” I cried for days! I didn’t know he was being raised for food!

Leah, I’ve always thought goats were so beautiful. How could the rest of the world not see it? As long as you don’t get downwind from them, you’re fine. Beautiful photos! I love Wyoming. You are in a beautiful part of our country. — Ravonda Bargeron
