Peekaboo Fawn

Now you see me.

Now you don’t.
I feel so lucky that this little fawn and it’s mother have taken up residence in the front meadow.
Have a wonderful weekend my friends.♥

Beautiful, such rich colours.
Thanks! It’s one of the few spots of green grass around here since we’re so dry. I love the contrast of the grass and the the browns and reds on the fawn.
Yes…these are great!
Amazing. I met a young buck and his doe during my walk this morning.
Thanks Lenore! What a lovely morning. I spooked a young buck last night by accident. Patrick got home from fighting a fire and I ran out to greet him and the buck scattered! Didn’t mean to scare him but I was happy to see my man!
Great shots!
Thanks so much!
Simply stunning!
Thank you!
This is lovely, looks like a painting
Oh, you captured the fawn so perfectly. I particularly like the second image–with the spots (and ears) blending with the grasses.
Thank you for the compliment Alice! I love the color contrast with these images as well.
We have a horse that we are starting and we’ve named her Alice. She’s my favorite.
Wow, that’s an amazing photo. How far away were you when you took it?
Thank you! Just a few yards away. I was sitting on my porch and it popped up looking for momma.
All babies, even animal babies, find such wonder in the world. It’s fun to watch them discover as they explore. You have such a wonderful window into that world, Leah, and you capture it so poignantly. These are beautiful. Thank you, too, for answering all the comments. I appreciate being invited in and welcomed so warmly. Have a great one!
awesome captures
Such beautiful pictures. The colors are amazing and that fawn is so adorable. You’re so lucky to enjoy such lovely sights! Thanks for sharing them with us
And congrats on being freshly pressed – it’s much deserved as these photos are wonderful!
Ha! Awesome shots — you are lucky indeed…
Beautiful!
Lovely shots, thank you.
AAAWWW!!! LOVE the zoom up and the special effects to make the photos look like a painting! Interestingly I just posted about DEER in my previous post last week! I love deer, but then again, who doesn’t???
Saw a fawn in my yard this morning. Such delicate, wonderful
creatures!
Congrats on being Freshly Pressed. Love the photos.
Woohoo! Freshly pressed again! That’s how I found you the first time.
Wow, the movement in the grass + the stillness of the fawn + sunshine is incredible. Makes me long to leave my urban place for the country I grew up in.
Beautiful shots. And I love your story… it’s amazing what loving a good man can do. And get us to do, even if we never expected it to be possible. Keep enjoying every day together.
How adorable! I love this.
This is so awesome, it makes my day!
beautiful shots
Just saw you are featured on “Freshly Pressed” ! Congrats!
Amazing photos, well done.
Beautiful photos, and congrats on being freshly pressed.
Holy Moly! Freshly Pressed again! Thanks WordPress and for the kind comments everyone. Glad you like our little fawn. I just saw it jumping through the meadow toward momma. So sweet!
*Hugs* ~Leah
OMGosh Leah again!?! You’re the FP’d darling! Congrats (:
Congarulations! Love the photos, nature must like you!
You are indeed blessed!
Freshly Pressed again! Well deserved, Leah!
So adorable.
They are amazing to watch play. I saw a set of twin fawns last week and I refused to take my eyes off them long enough to fish for camera behind the drivers seat, I just wanted to watch. Enjoy the time you have with them close to you soon they will head for the deep woods
Great pictures, you are so lucky to have this beautiful little creature to observe.
Great Photos – Have a Wonderful Weekend too:)
These are great shots! So vivid. There’s a herd of urban deer I run by almost every day. They are so close and seem so tame, like someone’s pet dog. They are urban deer, though, and have simply adapted themselves to their new land. The other day I saw one on its hind legs eating apple blossoms from a high tree branch in a neighbor’s front yard. You’ve inspired me to bring my camera along to try capture some of them.
Cheers,

Hello fellow Wyomingite. Great shot of the fawn. I was out hiking about a week ago- I wanted to hike fast for a good workout and left my camera in the truck. Well, you know what that means. As I walked along a small ridge I looked down into the hiding place of twin fawns in the tall grass! Dang! No camera! They were very young and I didn’t want to scare them out of the safe place where mama had stashed them. I had to console myself with simply watching them watching me.
That is a lovely pair of photos! Nice site you have here…
love it lots! the fawn’s so lovely…
Freshly Pressed Again!!! Congrats – well deserved!
Hi Leah,
Wow! Your pictures are truly breathtaking. You are so fortunate to be living so close to nature. So much space! I get such a sense of freedom when I see the beautiful landscapes and wonderful views, I love it. Your pictures of the little fawn are truly stunning. At first I thought it was a painting. The colors are so rich, and when you look into the eyes it feels like a private moment. You have captured it beautifully.
Wishing you all the best!

I love the wild life and its animals. Cool picture it looks so innocent and free.

Impossibly cute.
What a way to spend the day- taking photos such as these! So beautiful!
Congrats on being freshly pressed
Very nice pictures.Thanks for sharing
something nice a moment..lovely and so sweet
Wow, beautiful pictures! Love your blog! X
So lovely Leah! Your photos make me feel like I’m right on the ranch. I bet the mom and fawn are pretty comfortable with you around. I can see the gold of dry grass in the background. Have there been many wildfires in the area? I’m way behind on reading due to a funky computer….I’ll start reading where I left off so I’m more informed. (:
pretty
The innocence of a baby deer! I’ve got to get out of the city more often! Thanks for sharing and congrat’s on being FP’d!
Oh…didn’t read the part about you being a vegetarian when I first commented. How do you manage this amongst all of those rugged cow pokes! I’d be preaching the PETA bill of rights constantly and probably be run off the ranch! I liked your photo gallery link. What camera do you use?
Awwwww…cute!
Leah,
Congratulations on being Freshly Pressed!
