I think you have it wrong Leah…. the bright yellow and black one is the male. He’s probably telling his little wife that the girl on the branch above is only a casual acquaintance he met while migrating.

Jean is right. In Bird Land, males are the brightly colored ones.
The females tend to have duller colors, because they don’t do any of the attracting. Easy life, huh?
